Dan Schiffman is founder and majority partner of Capital River Wealth Management in Frederick, Maryland, and has been in Ed Robinson’s group for eight to nine years. He values the group as a safe, non-judgmental place to talk openly about — and even discover — where he can get better as a leader. His reflections: the first step to becoming a better leader is honestly acknowledging where you fall short; much of leadership is trained and practiced rather than innate; and it’s a mix of internal work and looking externally to make better decisions.
