Daily Leadership Thought #54 – Become a Non-Conformist Leader

Become a Non-Conformist Leader

Too many people follow the status quo because it’s the norm. They find the status quo much safer than pushing the envelope or trying something new. Leaders need to be nonconformists. They shouldn’t succumb to their business reality and all its inherent limitations. They should strive to create something new or different, but also ultimately better. A leader is supposed to see things others don’t see. He/she is required to challenge existing systems, processes, and solutions to find improvements. The future is created by those who architect it, not by leaders who look to the past or solely embrace the present to achieve progress. And, in business (and life), without progress, you are not simply standing still but moving backwards.
