Daily Leadership Thought #134 – Leaders Don’t Complain, They Take Action

It does feel at times that we have become a nation of complainers. People have become very adept at communicating what they don’t like. Whether it is the cost of living, our current political climate, the actions (or lack thereof) of our elected officials, the purported selfish behaviors of big business, the impending doom of multiple environmental and social phenomenon, the undisciplined behavior of our youth and the irresponsible actions of our neighbor, there is always something perceived to be wrong or not working. Leaders have to rise above this level of discourse and actually do something to make a positive difference.

Daily Leadership Thought #123 – It All Comes Down To Judgment

Whether we like it or not, all decisions have consequences, and the best way to mitigate adverse outcomes is to ensure that we are building and using sound judgment as individuals, leaders, and members of our communities. This journey never ends, and we must hold each other accountable for our actions and learn from our experiences.

Daily Leadership Thought #86 – Every Leader Gets Tested

Just like every other leader, but on a much more profound scale, all American presidents seem to be tested to see whether they truly mean what they say. They are also asked to be stewards of a political system whose fundamental principles are clearly laid out. The very nature of leadership is that others look to someone else to lead and provide guidance as to what is important. It is also important for that leader to navigate the inevitable challenges that get in the way of living this reality and pursuing a better future.

Your Vote Matters!

A well functioning democracy requires the active participation of its citizenry. To be actively involved, one must take the time to become informed and make reasonable judgments as to who best represents their interests and is most qualified to fulfill the needs of their community, county, state and country.
